GOG.com Update: Month of Activision!
I knew it!
I blogged earlier this week about the mysterious countdown clock at Good Old Games. The time has now passed (by about 30 minutes) and they have revealed their big announcement.
I was right! They have signed with one of the big publishers, but none of the one's I have guessed.
Instead, GOG.com has signed with Activision!
Yes, they have signed with one of the biggest game publishers ever! For the next month, they will be releasing games that have been published or owned by Activision.
Dissapointingly enough, they have opened their month of Activision with only two games. Good ones, but only two of them.
Arcanum, one of the biggest RPG games on the PC of all time and Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers, have been released to the public in all it's DRM-less goodness. Both games are priced at $6, which as most people will tell you, is not an awful lot of money. At the very least, I am buying Arcanum.
Hopefully they will release quite a few games from Activision's quite large library of games.
There is one glimmer of hope though...
For those who can remember that far back, Activision bought Blizzard for $1.7 billion in 2007. This means that Activision should be the holders of games like Lost Vikings and Blackthorne.
A month is a very long time. Let's hope Activision reads this blog.

check it out first
I wouldn't go for Arcanum. Unless they (GoG) revamped it. The final product was a big let-down. The classes were very unbalanced, the graphics were bland (shades of gray and brown for everything) and the game-play was disappointing and glitchy.
You'll probably do it anyway, but I would suggest reading some reviews before buying the game. Gabriel Knight would be the better buy in my opinion :)
Great!
That's great. I will take a look.

I'm a huge Lost Vikings fan myself :)
